Kenneth Harvey, President
K&P, Machine Tool Services

Kenneth Harvey has over 18 yrs experience in the Machine Tool Industry. He started in 1985 in the used machine business as a certified electrician. Shortly after starting, he saw the need to be able to perform more than just electrical work. Kenneth decided to cross train in the mechanical and hydraulic fields. He later saw the need to understand CNC machines. Kenneth has worked for machine dealers, performing at the Factory level. Kenneth has spent most of his time in the chip area of machines, but has spent several years in fabrication as well. He has worked in house as well as a traveling engineer.

Kenneth was self-employed in Houston, Texas from 1992 to 1994. During that time he worked on manual machines from chip to grinding to DRO read outs. Realizing the need to learn more, he closed his business to gain more knowledge about CNC machinery.

Kenneth has worked with Mori Seiki, Le Blond, Hass, G&L, Tree and Cincinnati chipping machinery. He has also worked with Strippit, Amada Triumph and ECT. In 1997 he decided to work for Mazak Corp. He was hired on as a field service engineer in the Southwest Region then transferred to the Southeast Region to be closer to family.

While with Mazak Corp. he was trained in Florence, Kentucky at the factory on many occasions. In 2000 he was sent to Japan for 2 weeks for specialized training. While there he visited 3 Mazak factories, spent time in class plus had the opportunity to work on the production floor in the assembly of machines.

As a field service engineer for Mazak, Kenneth installed and serviced machines. Installation work consisted of setting up, leveling, and running a test part to qualify machine to factory specs. He would then assist the customer with their first program.

After a downturn in the economy, Mazak had a layoff in December of 2002. Kenneth left Mazak Corp. to open K&P Machine Tool Services.

In February of 2005, Kenneth successfully attended a course from GE Fanuc in order to be able to provide maintenance on their Series 16i/18i/21i controls.

K&P Machine Tool Services is a full service company that provides service to all Manual and CNC machines. We also offer Preventive Maintenance programs. K&P covers the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.
